fumatech Modules for electro-membrane processes

In addition to process design, which is geared to the special features of a specific process, particular significance is given to the design and construction of the electrodialysis membrane module. In order to fulfil the most diverse requirements, we can rely on several module lines with application-engineered design characteristics and material coupling. Basically, all series types are characterised by:

  • Optimised process duration
  • Spacer net with open structure
  • Low pressure loss
  • Minimum membrance covering
  • High chemical and thermal resistance
  • Authorisation for use in processes involving foodstuffs in compliance with the law on foodstuffs

The geometry of the module types has been matched exactly to facilitate scale-up from laboratory, to pilot and to industrial scale. The modules are available in individual sizes for:

  • ED – electrodialysis
  • EDR – electrodialysis with pole reversal operation (2 loop technology) 
  • EDBM – electrodialysis with biopolar membranes ( 3 and 4 loop technology)
  • DD – diffusion dialysis

Materials with high chemical and thermal resistance are used to enable membrane operation from laboratory to industrial scale.

In addition, modules for membrane electrolysis as well as for test and characterisation cells are available.
