Beverage industry

Filtration is essential in all sectors of the brewing and beverage industry at different stages of production for the removal of impurities, particles and harmful micro-organisms. In the beverage industry, the removal of micro-organisms from air, water and products during production and filling processes is of major significance, in order to ensure the wholesomeness and purity of the final product and its shelf life.

This can only be achieved by the selective use of membrane filters. In brewing processes, pasteurisation can be replaced by cold sterilisation which prevents flavouring agents or ingredients being possibly changed by the effects of heat.

To improve the appearance of non-alcoholic beverages, filtration is applied to remove turbidity. To keep the use of chemical preservatives at a minimum, membrane filtration with downstream pre-filtration provides an adequate, state-of-the-art alternative.

Nowadays, saving potentials in industrial production sectors are equally as sought after as they are rare. Environmentally friendly membrane processes can make a major contribution to saving costs in product and service water treatment as well as in the recycling of alkaline solutions.
