fumea® - catalyst-coated membranes for water electrolysis

FUMATECH BWT GmbH supplies catalyst-coated membranes for PEM water electrolysis to produce Hydrogen on Cathode and Oxygen on Anode by splitting water when current is applied. The membrane is proton-exchange one based on the fumasep F-series. According to the operation conditions, the right fumea EF-type can be chosen.

The material for the CCM is dominantly woven-web reinforced PFSA. The non-reinforced version can be produced in thickness 100 µm as well. As PFSA material, both LSC and SSC material can be adopted. The catalyst structure consists from iridium or iridium-platinum on anode side and from platinum or platinum on carbon on cathode side. .
