...as versatile as the demands they have to fulfil
We can supply the entire material range for your fuel cell operation !
FuMA-Tech has available two categories of membranes for fuel cells:
The fumapem® F –-series is based on fumion® F Polymer. These membranes have excellent properties for applications up to 95°C. Various equivalent weights are available although standard types are EW 900, EW 1000 and EW 1100. The membranes have a material thickness of 40 and 60 um although other thickness can be supplied on request.
fumapem® F membranes are to be recommended with regard to standard electrodes. The films are attractive because of their high proton conductivity and can be used with commercial electrodes to produce membrane electrode units.
fumapem® P, E, K-series is based on non-fluorinated hydrocarbon type ionomers. These materials are suitable for use in direct methanol fuel cells and as hybrid materials for applications up to 110°C.
The standard membrane width is 300 mm but membranes are available by rolls on request. The maximum width of a roll is 600 mm.
Both material categories can be supplied in nano-structured form (as so-called inorganic-organic hybrid systems, type –S, type –Z and type –ZP).
fumapem® FS and PS hybrid systems display better mechanical properties, reduced material swelling and better water management in the range <110°C.
fumapem® FZP and PZP hybrid systems have higher proton conductivity at low gas humidification because of the inorganic hybrid materials.
Due to their morphology, fumapem® FZ and PZ hybrid systems display lower methanol and water drag levels in direct methanol fuel cells.
